• I am a child of divorce; I was 7 and my brother was 5. I also have half-sisters who shared the experience of a blended family in conflict, throughout my childhood. For me, this was confusing being the child who was in an uncertain, everchanging, and often scary, situation.

• I have personally, been through timely and costly custody disagreements that involved extensive rounds with lawyers and the court systems. These practices ultimately robbed my children of their mom and dad's opportunity to find the framework that they needed to work together vs fight against each other once lawyers were involved. Restorative mediation was not offered nor was it an option for us. Productive co-parenting relationships were lost and very difficult to regain once we entered that stage.

• I am remarried and have a beautiful blended family with children ages 12-20. The long, costly, anxious, and uncertain road from broken to a breakthrough wasn't easy. Now, it is my passion to spare other families and children the burnout and the time lost that my own family experienced.
