Janna graduated with honors from Southwest Minnesota State University with a Bachelor of Science in 2005. She then explored several careers, including work for a Fortune 500 company and a contract onboard the Norwegian Cruise line.

She served several years as a qualified Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician for rural emergency response crews.
She attended Northern Illinois University and completed both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration within a 3-year time frame, graduating with honors from both programs.
