Katie's Perspective
Mediation Practice & Credentials
-
I grew up as the middle child of five in northern Minnesota, surrounded by lakes, which contributed to my love of the water.
-
I have a beautiful and successful blended family, including my thirteen-year-old, eleven-year-old, and almost nine-year-old sons and my partner's twenty-one-year-old daughter, eighteen-year-old son, and sixteen-year-old daughter.
-
I have navigated divorce and how to set healthy boundaries when boundaries were not always respected.
-
I work extensively with families on creating healthy boundaries within all systems of their lives.
-
My background is as an individual and family therapist specializing in working with children and their families.
-
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist.
-
I have a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Graduate Certificate from the University of MN in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, and a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy from Saint Mary's University.
-
I am a qualified neutral on the family roster under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice.
-
I have over fifteen years of experience working with families who are divorcing/separating, are in high-conflict situations, and have experienced trauma and difficulties with conflict resolution.
